Mirae Asset starts SMS services for NAV updates

Mirae Asset, South Korea’s leading independent financial services company has now started SMS based services to its customers by adding a transaction based alert system. All customers who transact online to buy or sell units held by them are now being sent SMS alert confirming their transaction.

Mutual fund services have undergone a sea change in the Indian market. Now, the asset management companies (AMCs) are finding their niche in delivering unique products and service offerings. Mirae Asset has integrated ValueFirst API to its core system there by enabling real-time SMS alerts to customers.

Many AMCs are now moving in this direction. ValueFirst is in the process of completing the integration with other leading AMCs who will offer the SMS services to all their customers, thereby making it an industry norm in the near term.

Air Deccan launches Mobile Ticketing (M - Fly)

In yet another first of its kind initiative, India’s leading low cost airline, Deccan, has launched m-Fly – a mobile-based ticketing and information system. Guests can now book, pay and generate an e-ticket using their mobile phones.

m-Fly is the Mobile Ticketing offering by Deccan for all its guests which is a convenient option to book tickets from mobile phone, sitting at the comfort of your homes, office or even while on the move, all without giving out any Credit / Debit card details! The service is available on GSM / CDMA phones for all operators in India.

Guests are required to complete a one-time registration process by logging on to the website or by calling a Call Centre. On registration, guests will receive a password (4 digit number) as an SMS. Once a guest is registered, he / she can go to any Oxigen outlet (40,000 outlets across the country) and recharge with a top-up of whatever amount one needs. On recharging, he / she can check flight availability by sending SMS: AVL to 56070 and Guests get a return SMS confirming the availability, he / she can then book tickets by sending the following SMS: bok to 56070. On sending the SMS to 56070, Guest will receive the Ticket Number in the form of SMS and at the same time will also receive the e-ticket as an e-mail. Guests can then directly go to the airport and get an e-ticket by showing the Ticket Number at the Airport ticketing counter.
